Pandas, native to China, are large mammals known for their black-and-white fur and bamboo-based diet. Due to habitat loss and low reproductive rates, they are endangered, but conservation efforts have helped stabilize their population.
Pandas live in the mountain forests of China, particularly in the Sichuan, Shaanxi, and Gansu provinces. They thrive in cool, misty bamboo forests.
Pandas primarily eat bamboo, consuming up to 38 kilograms daily. Despite being classified as carnivores, their diet is 99% bamboo.
There are different species of pandas, including the iconic Giant Panda and the lesser-known Qinling Panda. The Red Panda, while not closely related, also shares a habitat in the forests of China.
